The Tampa Bay International Business Council (TBIBC) is a non-profit organization that is based on the support of approximately a dozen bi-national chambers of commerce and trade associations. The general objectives are to promote Collaboration, Diversity and Prosperity. It seeks to integrate multinational and American-born residents into a more unified community, to share resources and networks, and to develop regional and international trade for Tampa Bay and the surrounding counties.
TIBIBC has been in existence for over fifty years. It has worked to build bonds and communication between the Bay area’s many diverse and bi-national groups.
Six years ago, the International Business Summit (IBS) developed as a separate movement. IBS focused on a single, annual summit as a means towards very similar objectives to TBIBC.
Since then, TBIBC and IBS have found a strong, mutual synergy and joined to become one organization. Past presidents of TBIBC and IBS have come together to form the advisory body of the current TBIBC, and the hard-working volunteers of both organizations have formed teams to put Tampa Bay on the map.
This allows TBIBC to provide four distinctive, annual TBIBC events, and to work more closely with different supporting bi-national and university organizations. The signature Spring International Business Summit remains the highlight of the year but the Fall, Winter and Summer Events are becoming more defined. Joint Chamber events are becoming more common, and we are able to offer a wide range of different events for both members and for our much-valued, high-calibre sponsors.
